Reflections on The U.S. Tour

Greetings music lovers! Me and Kabanjak recently returned from our successful first U.S. tour and paved the ground for lots of more future touring. We had such a great time in the USA and saw so many new places and met a lot of great new people. The tour with Thievery Corporation was incredible, it was a big honor and great pleasure for us to open up for their live shows – great crew of musicians, singers and tour staff, superb audience, beautiful venues and lots of fun on the tour buses. We really felt welcome to the whole Thievery live crew and our music fitted greatly to open up for them…the journey will definitely be continued!

Big shouts go out to Rob & Eric from Thievery and their whole live band; Nickodemus and the Turntables On The Hudson Crew in New York; Dirk Kahl (Levende), Beni B (ABB Records), Junior Reid (Black Uhuru), Azeem & DJ Zeph in Oakland; Phil & the whole ESL Music crew, the Eighteenth Street Lounge staff, Fort Knox fam; Thomas Blondet (Rhythm & Culture) and See-I crew in Washington DC; Kalani Tifford & Federico Aubele and his band; Bassnectar; DJ Vadim; Kraak & Smaak; Dave Geller and Kamal Soliman and C-3 Presents massive; Martin Perna and Adrian Quesada and their Ocote Soul Sounds band and, last but not least, all the local promoters on the tour with Thievery! You guys know who you are…thanks so much for the good time!

We did a selection of photos from our tour and hope these give a good overview on what happened on our three week tour in the U.S.

Next visit to us is planned for early december for some gigs at Art Basel in Miami Beach and then we will head over to Mexico. Please check the Internet for our tour dates and our newly established Switchstance Blog at switchstancerecordings.wordpress.com

And those of you who are already hungry for new music by us the Ancient Astronauts then you should know that our next vinyl and digital EP is gonna be finished soon. It will contain a new unreleased song with Raashan Ahmad plus some great remixes of tracks from our album done by TM Juke (Tru Thoughts/UK), Protassov (Switchstance), Pathaan and GianMa & Stone. Released date soon to be announced.

Peace, love & music!

Ancient Astronauts
