In the words of Monty Python, “And now for something completely different”. Anyone who is familiar with any of Awol One’s projects, whether it is his solo work or his involvement with The Shape Shifters (or his countless other projects), you know one thing: you never know what to expect. Once again bringing a new style and twist to his eclectic lyrical delivery, Awol has paired up with DJ/Producer Factor to produce his latest full-length, Owl Hours. “Celebrate” brings us just a taste of what is to come from the new release which features collaborations with the likes of Sunspot Jonz, B Real, and Aesop Rock to name just a few. Utilizing a supremely rhythmic beat, Awol demonstrates his chameleon like ability to morph his vocal styling into whatever style is necessary for the music at hand, exhibiting an overtly melodic lyrical approach in “Celebrate”. Keep all eyes open for shows in your area, and Awol One will keep us all guessing what comes next.
