While billed as a remix of TV on the Radio’s “Wear Me Out”, it’s more of a mash-up in my opinion, or at least musical cut and paste. This song marks the first time Bisco has released a song that he produced. I would say that he did a damn good job. Being a fan of both the mash-up form and TVotR, I lack a little objectivity on this one, but I think you’ll agree. He’s releasing it in advance of his new album, The Broadcast. Not only does he skillfully cut-up the music to create a new and equally groovy song, he raps over the music with a smooth and clever flow. The song centers on a single word, breathe. Opening and closing the rap and using the TVotR line “I’m forgetting to breathe,” Bisco has created a new song that reminds us of the most important thing we should remember to do while at the same time, taking our breath away.
