Kero One- When The Sunshine Comes

Despite the annoying voice popping in periodically announcing, “This is a promotional copy only,” today’s track is definitely worth a listen. Opening with a deep soul singer and smooth summertime rhythm line, “When the Sunshine Comes” is a song that sounds likes it’s title. It sounds like it could have been included on Guru’s Jazzmatazz series but is, in fact, from Kero One’s sophomore album, Early Believers. The lyrics tell a story of despair and hope, happiness and sadness, delivered with a flow as smooth as the rhythm line. Somewhere at the intersection of soul, hip-hop, funk, and jazz, this track is guaranteed to move you. If you’ve got it playing on your car stereo, put on your sunglasses, roll down the windows, kick back the seat, stick in on cruise, and don’t forget the head nod and the smile.
