Writers note: My apologies for my absence. I have been on vacation. Though I prepared my posts in advance there were technical difficulties. All of them are up now. Two of the posts now say they were published on 7/17 and one on 7/27 (I legitimately missed 7/29 and 31.) Thank you, now move along, nothing to see here.
Asthmatic Kitty has released a 3 volume set they are calling the Library Catalog Music Series. They bill it as “the soundtrack to your life” or a commercial, or anything else. A series of instrumental albums, each volume has its own theme.
“Big Moth” is from Music for Drums and, from the first stick lick it is easy to see why. Highly percussive, it gets into a marching band style groove that forces the ass to move. Halfway through it glitches and turns to dissonance-the other side of the groove. Shifting again it closes with some balance. As for a soundtrack, I imagine a street party on the Pacific with fire breathers and sword swallowers, freaks, and scantily clad women. Asthmatic Kitty suggests, “a polaresque science-fiction intrigue that could very well e imagine be Antarctica or Pluto, with sweat, sex and icicles!” I guess it depends on your perspective. What scene do you imagine for this soundtrack?
