Luxury Wafers help to keep it an intimate, family affair. Boasting a small live recording studio, and keeping it filled with honest bands simply doing what they do best, Luxury Wafers have turned their attention to San Francisco’s Or, The Whale for this live set that gives us all a sneak peak into what the septet’s new studio release will sound like. On the verge of releasing their sophomore follow up to Light Poles and Pines, Or, The Whale continue to craft front porch music that relies on each member of the band in constructing the intricate vocal harmonies, lap steel swells, and rock solid rhythmic foundations. “Datura” opens with a contemplative guitar strumming that is immediately enveloped in a symphony of well-structured vocals, as the group leads us on our own jimson fulled exploration.
