Jonathan - Andrew is right. The name is a reference to a song title and yes most of the time that seems to be a requisite for an article, something I fell for as well in trying to come up with a name.

Andrew - I agree with you, that is nowhere near one of their best songs. Thanks for the kudos!

Don't you know, Jon? You HAVE to have a song title by the band in the name of your article.

I hate that song. That's one of their b-sides that I wish I could have avoided forever.

But, kudos on a good dissection of part of their importance.

@Jonathan

'Pop is dead' is a b-side that radiohead put out back in the 90's. I think that is what the author was referring to. I think what can be learned from the Radiohead model is target your fan base. Radiohead has state in many interview how marveled they were at the online community that had constructed itself throughout their career. So, instead of catering the press/labels with their release, they took it directly to their fans. The fans were the first one to hear about it and were the first to have their hands on it. Lilly Allen is a two-faced bitch who thinks she is some how exempt from the 'made' it category. Her music got popular through file-sharing as well. She of all people should embrace it. I remember when I stumbled across a free show she did in Seattle and I was impressed so I checked the music out. I wouldn't have paid to see her at the time because I didn't know her. The free show was the only way I was going to give up my time to see an act that I had not heard of before. But free music must 'hurts' those garage band artists? Bullshit. She's forgotten her roots. The internet has decentralized how consumers discover music, and if people think fans are still going to spend money to discover music they are sorely mistaken.
